From the left... Jan, Wendy, Angie, Edna, Joan
What a great way to begin this New Year! And although all the girls were not able to join us this morning, for those of us that were able to attend, it was just plain enjoyable being together again.
We covered Revelation Chapters 6 and 7 and are already anticipating next week.
The Bible Study Room is now open for further discussion of this week's lesson, so I'll hand it over to all of you and will look forward to joining in myself shortly!

Welcome! I'm glad that you came. Pull up a chair and share what's on your heart and mind. The other girls should be here soon!
Hi Girls,
It was good to be back! Thank you Cathie for guiding us through Revelation:6-7. There was so much to get through and I can see where one could spend a whole bible study on just each verse. I had planned on leaving early as I had a full schedule but very quickly knew that I did not want to miss even one minute!...Plan B quickly came into my mind and it worked out very well. I thought I would not accomplish what I needed to by staying but I found that God "added" that hour to my day!!!
I am still reflecting on the study and there is so much to absorb. I am so aware of God's "justice" and "mercy" in these two chapters and also so thankful that I have FATHER that knows my name and calls me HIS own.
I was sharing our bible study time with Marnie this morning as we had our own mini study. We were both trying to describe what being in a study and digging into God's Word does for us and the best word that describes it is...IT SATISFIES!
My mind immediately goes back to a verse that has become precious to me Psalm 34:8 "O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuse in Him!
It is great to be on this journey through Revelation with each one of you...see you next week!
Love...Always
After you all pick yourself up off the floor from laughter please know that Psalm 34:8 should be...O taste and see that the LOrd is good; How blessed is the man who take REFUGE in Him!
Most of the time I can leave my typo's alone but this needed "fixing!"
Angie, I'm still laughing... and now I'm laughing even more because of the distinctly 'southern baptist' way you spelled 'LOrd'!
You are a true tonic to me, honestly.
Love you!
Hi everyone,
The longer I study God's word the more amazed I am that my eyes have been opened. All through John I began to understand (in a human way) what God was saying to me.This feeling gets stronger and stronger the more I study His Word. Now, in Revelations, I am again astonded that I have some understanding of His message to me. Whenever I have tried to read Revelations before I had absolutely no idea what was being said. It was a bit like a horror novel with no meaning at all. God has really opened by eyes and given me the gift of you, Cathie, and all my sisters studying along with me. I thank God for your fellowship and insights into God's Word. Like Angie said, although I had no plans to leave early last Thursday, there was no way I could have been moved from my chair. I felt "captured" in a wonderful way by Cathie's teaching, everyone's comments and questions, and all the God was opening my eyes to see. Am looking forward to Thursday. I am so greatful to be a child of God!
Love,
Jan
Hey! I don't know what I did differently to became anonymous. Ah, the mysteries of the blog.
Now, that's INSPIRING! Jan, even if I tried to explain what joy your words bring to me, I could never adequately convey all that is in my heart.
You are such an encouragement to me AND your sisters as we see you literally 'blossom' before our very eyes... I haven't forgotten what you shared last week regarding the energizing effect that God's Word has had upon you. Gotta love that!
