Welcome! I am so glad that you are here! Pull up a chair and just make yourself right at home. What is on your heart and mind today? The other girls should be arriving soon to talk and to share also, as we encourage one another this week!
As I was sitting in church yesterday, praising God in a worship song...I sang the words....it's my joy to honour You in all I do. It all of a sudden hit me that I don't always honor Him in ALL I do. I try to but don't always succeed. I often modify worship songs to make it personal. For example, Our God is an awesome God...becomes My God is an awesome God. So I had to re-phrase the wording to " I desire to honor You in all I do". This past weekend I was most aware of His presence with me. Yet I know He is always with me.... I had to speak with a partner at a Fundraiser Banquet in front of 300 people and I am not good at that. As our turn approached my heart was nearly pounding out of my chest..and I prayed Lord please still my heart and provide me with the words I needed to say (as there was no planned speach) And He did, my heart ceased pounding and I stood there and the words just came out of my mouth (with some difficulty at first) as I/we shared my/our journey of our friendship with each other.I could hardly believe I did it....well I didn't the Lord did. I could go on about how He answered a specific prayer of my just prayed about a few hours ago. I am overwhelmed by His love, His grace and His blessings.... SO, that's what is on my heart today>>>>>>>
Edna, thank you for sharing your heart... a very FULL heart indeed! My eyes grew wide when you said that you modify worship songs to make them more personal... I do the very same thing! Sisters indeed!
2 Corinthians 12 kept filtering through my thoughts as I listened to you recount your weekend...
"And He (the Lord) has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."
These verses were lived out in you this weekend Edna, resulting in praise to our God and blessings upon His faithful and yielding child. Enjoy His 'overwhelming love, grace and blessings' upon you, He delights in His child!
Wendyl says...great study this am.! Many thanks to Jan for providing a tasty white chocolate & raspberry cake to celebrate Cat's 25th birthday today (her mom neglected to :( )Pastor Don dropped in to say Hi and reluctantly took a piece of cake with him...lol As instructed, we read over the How To and Intro and discussed and then read the 1st chapter and decided to complete day one together.... So, was an enthusiastic class. Had bit of a discussion on the "seven spirits of God" at Debbie's request. Someone else can carry on this note as I've taken up enough space.
Happy Birthday Cat! Way to go Jan, white chocolate and raspberry... mmm-mm! Pastor Don may have taken that cake reluctantly, but somehow I don't think that Pastor Don ate that birthday cake reluctantly!
SO... you were discussing the seven spirits who are before His throne were you!? How about if I join in on the discussion by posting? Haven't a clue so far as to what you covered so if I add absolutely nothing to the discussion, just know that I had a blast doing it!
It is so good to know that you all had such a great start to your Revelation study! Miss you all like crazy, but I trust God in all His dealings with both you and me, and I have to say that I am so proud (yep, that's the very word I'm intending to use)... PROUD of you! Not the kind of 'proud' that comes before the fall, but the 'look at my sister's run this race' kind of proud.
Listen, Hebrews tells us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, just cheering us on to the finish line. Surely, God would not exclude me from doing a little cheering of my own, here on earth, towards you, to encourage you on in your pursuit of God and His purposes and the knowing of Him through His Word!
